Counselling and Psychotherapy are terms that describe a process of self-discovery. If you are experiencing negative self-thoughts, regularly feeling angry, frustrated, stressed or guilty – or perhaps you are always exhausted – counselling may be for you. People often need a sounding board for their thoughts and feelings and it can difficult to do this with people that are closest to you.
Some of the reasons our clients seek our help are:
- Relationship breakdown
- Illness or bereavement
- Ongoing difficulties with anxiety
- Lack of confidence or self-esteem
- A feeling of no direction or life purpose
Mindful Synergi adopt a variety of techniques to help you develop self-awareness. The way we think has everything to do with how we feel and how we experience things. By gaining new perspective on past experiences and present challenges, you can create long-term positive life changes, replacing confusion with understanding, and self-doubt with self-confidence.
If you are not being heard in your relationships, feeling victimised, or have withdrawn from your usual activities, counselling can help. It can help you gain new perspectives and greater understanding of your situation, helping you to change your thoughts, feelings and actions to achieve desirable outcomes.
What Counselling Is
Counselling provides a professional, safe, confidential and supportive relationship that enables you to talk openly about your difficulties, as well as positive experiences in life.
Exploring your thoughts, emotions and behaviour is central to the counselling process. During counselling, core beliefs about yourself and the world are examined to reassess their validity or appropriateness so you can learn new and more helpful ways of being in the world.
What Counselling Is Not
Counselling is not advice giving! Our therapist will not lecture you with simple solutions to your problems or offer their own opinion about yours or others’ actions.
A counsellor will listen without interrupting or imposing their own values and beliefs on you. They will create a safe space to explore and examine your thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
This will lead you to creating your own healing on your own terms.
At Mindful Synergi we provide a safe, confidential environment with appropriate professional boundaries, set clear goals, and collaborate with you throughout the process. We will support you to create fundamental and far-reaching transformation in your life.
Combining your Psychotherapy or Counselling sessions with some yoga is the best way to contribute positively to your healing. The connection between mind, body, breath and movement aids recovery from trauma, depression and stress. Your Mindful Synergi therapist can guide you as to the best programme for your needs.
Mindful Synergi can be found at Suite 7, 134-140 King Street, Newtown NSW or 8 Wells Street, East Gosford NSW. Mindful Synergi can also offer you an online counselling session.
