DEBORAH LOWNDES
PSYCHOTHERAPIST
Deborah fosters a safe environment in her therapeutic space for clients to share their stories and embark on their journey towards healing and personal growth. Her passion lies in helping others discover and cultivate their best version of self through empowerment and strength-based practice. She brings a wealth of life experiences to her practice, drawn from a diverse background of working with people.
Deborah is interested in the impact of trauma-led life experiences that can impede personal growth. Trauma and attachment theories are her focus. Her speciality areas lie in the profound effect chronic illness has on daily life, unravelling the interpersonal complexities within workplace dynamics and social and familial relationships, and navigating the challenges associated with transitional life stages from young adulthood to retirement.
Trained in person-centred technique and with a holistic view of each person, she engages in an integrative psychotherapeutic approach, incorporating modalities such as Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Felt Sense, Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT, ACT & DBT), Existential, and Gestalt Therapy. Each modality is thoughtfully tailored to meet her client’s unique experiences and needs.
